Bimini Itineraries

Most Bimini itineraries online are written by someone with a room to sell. This section includes the case against coming, which is the part that makes the rest worth reading.

An itinerary is only useful if it starts by admitting what kind of trip its for. Bimini rewards a very specific visitor and frustrates several others, and the gap between those two outcomes is not about money or effort. It is about whether your day involves water.

The shapes that work here are narrow and they are good. A two-night fishing trip from South Florida, where you land, get on a boat, and lose a day to nothing. Three days with a partner who does not fish, built around the flats in the morning and the beach or the mangroves after. Four days of nothing but fishing, which is the only version where the offshore calendar and the flats calendar both get a proper look. A family week is harder, and we will say so.

What we will not do is pretend the island is a resort destination that happens to have fishing. There are roughly thirty places to eat and a handful of them matter. Shopping is a couple of small stores and the mail boat. Nightlife is a small number of bars with a lot of character and not much choice. If you are looking for range, Nassau is a genuinely better holiday and we will tell you that rather than sell you this one.

Two constraints shape every plan here more than anything else. First, the guides are the scarce resource, not the beds — book the guide, then find a room near their dock. Second, cash is a real planning input: card acceptance is patchy and we have not been able to confirm a reliable bank or ATM on the island, so assume you are bringing money with you and be pleasantly surprised if you are wrong.

Once the shape of the trip is settled, the planning page handles the getting-there decisions and the crossing.

  • What Bimini Is Not Good For

Bimini is bad at: nightlife beyond a few bars, restaurant variety, shopping, reliable card payments, and being a week-long resort holiday. It is very good at one thing, and if that thing isn't water, don't come.
